Cub Scouts is a Blast
Cub Scouting is fun for the whole family. In Scouting, boys and girls start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.
Our pack is made up of several dens. Each pack is identified by a number, and ours is 1163! The leader of the pack meeting is the Cubmaster. In addition to serving as the master of ceremonies the Cubmaster provides support to Den Leaders. The pack gets together once a month at Heritage Elementary to have fun with the other dens. Pack 1163 conducts a wide variety of exciting activities year round, including the traditional Pinewood Derby, the Blue & Gold Banquet, as well as hikes, camping trips, picnics, community service projects, and other fun events.
During the month, a small group of Cub Scouts who are the same gender and in the same grade will meet as a Den. We try to limit our den size to 6-8 Cub Scouts. An adult, usually a parent, serves as a Den Leader. They carry out the activities related to adventures as they are presented in the Cub Scout’s handbook and the Den Leader Guide. Den meetings focus on doing age specific activities and earning advancement and awards through field trips, hands-on projects, etc. You can join any time you are in elementary school, it is never too late!
